T Bar M

Hmmm...where to start with this entry. There is so much to say! Brodie had the awesome opportunity to attend his first year of day camp at T Bar M (a Christian, sports camp) in New Braunfels this summer. It's a BIG camp and it promises to be a life changing experience for kids and staff (and it is....we've experienced it firsthand) so it was a BIG deal...to us and to Brodie. And of course, it was that much more special to me and Kyle since we worked there before we were married (that's where we met after all!). Parents aren't allowed on camp property while camp is in session (which I have always been thankful for), but I do wish I had pictures of Brodie and his friends getting to do all the incredible "stuff" during their days there. I have some fun before and after pics, but as far as the rest we'll have to rely on ALL the stories that we continue to hear from Brodie about how amazing it was. The overall theme this summer was 'Play It Out'.....and we have the music and motions to prove it!  Brodie says his favorite parts of camp were swimming (by the way these pools are not your ordinary swimming pools) and batters box, the time they spent in the Bible each day learning about Jesus. Each day had a specific theme to it so the kids (and moms no doubt!) could get as creative/caught up in it as they wanted.  It definitely made it extra fun for the campers...and coaches too :)
I had a blast catching up with old friends and bosses.  In fact, just being on the camp property again stirred up emotions in me that I wasn't expecting.  I grew so much as a person during my time there.  The Staff teach the Word, yes, but they live it out every day, too. You see it, you learn it, you experience it, and you desire to live that way- like Jesus. At least that's the way it was for me. And if Brodie has an opportunity to experience that (on any level) at such an early age why would we pass that up?  No way.  I have a feeling that we might be seeing more of T Bar M in future summers.....a definite win for all of us!
