In mid October, Birdie and Scoops came to see us. They picked a great weekend because they wanted to see Brodie play in a soccer game and instead they got to see 2 games! It was one of those weeks where we had a Saturday game and a Monday night game so they stayed for both. Brodie played so well; he's on a really good team with a fabulous coach (Go FC Lions!)! We always enjoy watching him play sports as he is very competitive, intense, and determined to do well (with this comes challenges as well so we have lots of good/hard conversations after the games). After his Sat game, we headed to play at Top Golf in Allen. What a neat place! My Dad especially loved it (he loves to golf) and did a great job coaching us all on how to stand, hold the club correctly, and hit the ball (well, I need more coaching but that's besides the point). This will forever be on our list of things to do when B & S come to visit!
We also ventured out and tried a new restaurant close by and thankfully, we all loved it (Lunada- Tex Mex). It overlooks a beautiful park/pond so we even got to feed the ducks afterwards.
The church we are members of, Bent Tree, was in the middle of missions
week and they were having a service outreach after the service on
Sunday. It was so fun to be able to jump in as a family and help pack
and send thousands of seeds to Africa so that the people there could
plant them and have lots of food to feed their families. What a neat
opportunity and a great lesson for Brodie (all of us really!). Thanks
for coming, Birdie and Scoops, and for all your love and care for us!
And for all your help around the house :) I am so incredibly grateful!
